Anna is a British exchange student. Jacob is American and studies design. The two meet and fall in love in Los Angeles. Anna spends the summer with Jacob, overstaying her visa after it expires upon graduation and forcing her to return home to London. Attempting to reenter the United States as a tourist, Anna is detained at the airport by immigration officials. The couple therefore start an unstable and awkward long-distance relationship in which they loose the intense passion they once felt for one another.
