In Time

Time Is Power

By the year 2161 genetic alteration has caused people to stop aging at 25 and requires them to earn more time thereafter or die within a year. To avoid overpopulation, time has therefore become the currency and the way people pay for luxuries and necessities. Society is divded by the social classes living in 'Time Zones'; youth predominates in the ghettos. They have to work each day to earn a few more hours of life. The rich, on the other hand, can live forever, while the rest attempt to negotiate their immortality.

A poor 28-year-old (Timberlake) comes into a fortune of time, although it is too late for him to help his mother from dying. He ends up on the run from a corrupt police force known as 'time keepers', along with the daughter of an old millionaire: Sylvia (Seyfried).
